Our Story

The Michael J. Dunleavy Foundation was founded in 2002 following the passing of its name sake Michael James Dunleavy, age eight, who succumbed to an inoperable brain tumor which was first diagnosed in the late spring of that year. The Foundation was born out of Michael's own desire to help other children who had cancerous brain tumors or other illness and their families.

It is true we cannot go backwards to help all those who have gone before us. But through your generosity we can certainly make a difference to those who are suffering now, and those who could be spared the suffering in the future.
